The remote filter groups postings that state a remote work arrangement. The page says to check each posting for residency restrictions and travel requirements. “Remote” describes the work arrangement read from the posting. It does not mean that the job can be done from any country or without travel.

Examples show why the scope matters. Forward Deployed Engineer at Veeam Software is shown as remote in the US and includes a salary range of $102,200–$234,800. Forward Deployed Engineer at Numeral is also shown as US remote, with remote work restrictions. Staff Forward Deployed Engineer at Alation is shown as remote in the US and lists $124,646–$168,272. These examples are not a general rule about all remote FDE work.

Before applying, look for the exact scope in the original posting:

  • the states, country, or time zones where the employer can hire;
  • whether travel to customers or offices is required;
  • whether “remote” applies immediately or only after a location or onboarding condition;
  • the employment and work-authorization terms.

An explicit on-site requirement is negative evidence against a fully remote preference. An explicit travel requirement does not cancel a remote arrangement. If the posting says nothing about travel or residency, the condition is unknown. Ask the employer before treating the job as workable for your location.

See remote-work and travel research, and compare the original posting linked from each job card. Nextmove’s method page explains that locations and working arrangements are read from postings and should be confirmed with the employer.
