Our reading of the posting
2,540 of 3,315 postings (76.6%) write production code.
The principal coding scope described in each posting. Production means code used in real work. Prototypes means demos or proofs of concept. Configuration means integration without substantive software development.
A technology named in a posting is a keyword in its text, not proof that the tool is required in every part of the job.
Start from the work the posting asks for, then check which language, cloud or data system supports it.
A Google Cloud FDE posting asks for production AI or software in Python, C++ or TypeScript, and keeps fine-tuning in its preferred list.
What to do with a technology count
Learning the most-mentioned language does not make you a candidate for the roles that mention it. Read two or three postings that name the technology you are considering, and look at what the engineer does with it: a service in production, a customer integration, an evaluation harness, or a prototype.
