What to check in a staff-level role
The public salary breakdown calls this group Staff+. That label groups postings that Nextmove reads as staff or above. It does not mean every employer uses a staff title or the same career ladder. Read whether the role expects architecture decisions, cross-team technical direction, repeated customer delivery, mentoring, or people management. Staff-level work is not automatically a management role.
The current staff+ jobs show the postings behind the live view. Ask which decisions and outcomes are assigned across customers or teams, whether the role is an individual contributor or manager path, and how much production engineering, customer travel, and technical direction it involves.
Confirm which location and level determine the range. Ask about bonus, equity, vesting, and review terms separately. Compare with senior FDE salary, then use the original employer posting to check the conditions of a specific role.
