The title FDE covers different work. A posting may describe production software, customer deployment, pre-sales evaluation, internal tooling, or several of these together. Compare the work described in the posting before comparing the employer name.
Questions to ask when you compare a role
What does the location require? A company page may list several offices for one role. Check the individual posting for its eligible work location, remote policy, and travel language. A location shown in a title is not enough to establish where a person may work.
What does pay mean here? The salary page collects salary ranges from postings. Read the employer’s terms to see what the range covers, then compare roles with similar responsibility and location.

OpenAI’s page, for example, groups financial services, legal, healthcare, and software roles across several US locations. Palantir’s page includes forward deployed software and AI engineering roles across commercial and government work. Those titles point to different customer and delivery contexts, so the role text matters.
