About Persona

Persona is the configurable identity platform built for businesses in a digital-first world. Verifying individuals and organizations is harder — but more important — than ever, with AI enabling fraudsters to launch sophisticated accounts at scale and regulations evolving rapidly.

We’ve built Persona to support practically every use case and industry — that’s why we’re able to serve a wide range of leading companies. For example, Reddit relies on Persona for age assurance and verification to comply with online safety regulations, protecting younger users while maintaining a seamless experience. Meanwhile, OpenAI relies on Persona to keep bad actors out, protecting one of the world’s most powerful AI platforms from large-scale abuse in a time when AI is reshaping the way we work and live.

We’re growing rapidly and looking for exceptional people to join us!

About the role

Are you a software engineer ready to step out from behind the code and make a direct impact by building lasting relationships with customers? As a Field Product Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to leverage your technical background to address complex business and technical challenges. In this role, you’ll develop both business and customer-facing acumen while working directly with team members to deliver impactful solutions. Beyond providing day-to-day support, you’ll work closely with product and engineering teams, acting as a vital bridge between technical and customer-facing functions. If you’re excited about using your technical skills to drive business growth and make a direct impact, this position is perfect for you.

Best fit for

  • Someone with 1-3 years of experience in a technical role (e.g., Software Engineer, Solutions Engineer, etc) looking to build lasting relationships with customers.
  • Someone with a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Someone curious to learn the ins and outs of a highly technical product.
  • Someone looking to level up their career alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry.

What you'll do at Persona

  • Partner directly with customers to understand their goals, technical requirements, and operational constraints to design and implement solutions using Persona's platform, guiding customers through technical decisions and trade-offs.
  • Own end-to-end delivery, including solution design, configuration and integration, quality assurance, deployment, and iteration.
  • Support implementations and ongoing optimization including helping customers launch and improve verification experiences and workflows, coordinating requirements, testing, milestones, and follow-through with technical partners.
  • Investigate, explain, and collaborate on complex technical issues with Product and Engineering to resolve customer blockers, clearly explain business impact, and identify actionable product feedback, reusable solutions, and better documentation.

What you’ll gain at Persona

  • A structured program: You'll join a dedicated Field Product Engineer cohort with hands-on onboarding to Persona's platform. You'll then be placed on live customer accounts alongside experienced Solutions, Implementations, or Sales Engineers.
  • Real technical ownership early: You'll take customer solutions from start to finish: scoping, design, building, testing and launch. You'll do this for customers ranging from startups to Fortune 10 companies.
  • Holistic support and growth: Alongside 1:1 mentorship from seasoned professionals, you’ll have access to abundant resources to help you be successful. You'll work closely with Sales, Post-Sales, Product and Engineering. You'll see how deals are won, how customers succeed and how feedback from the field shapes our roadmap and go-to-market strategy.
  • Leadership development: You’ll build relationships with Persona’s executives, made up of former Square, Dropbox, and Coursera alumni. Persona offers an environment heavily focused on learning and development, with opportunities for growth and career advancement.

What you’ll bring to Persona

  • A growth mindset: You have a demonstrated love for learning and adaptability to ambiguity. You are eager to give and receive constructive and positive feedback, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. You have a passion for learning and embracing new challenges.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills: You can effectively convey complex concepts to different audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: You have a genuine desire to provide exceptional customer experiences and contribute to a customer’s success.
  • Curiosity: You have a passion for learning and embracing new challenges in an ever changing environment.
  • Empathy: You can understand and manage the needs of others, and build an environment where others feel understood.
