Systems Engineer, Mission Platforms About the role Muon seeks a Systems Engineer, Mission Platforms to join our Mission Engineering team. At Muon, we are delivering missions to help understand and act on Earth and climate intelligence. As a Mission Platforms SE you will serve as the lead systems engineer for the end-to-end mission capability baseline for our scalable mission platforms. Rather than focusing solely on the physical vehicle, you will take a holistic view as the "Outside-In" systems integrator. You will primarily focus on assembling the building blocks of the Muon Mission Foundry to enable families of missions,, translating them into unified baselines that encompass hardware, flight software, ground segment interfaces, and mission operations. To achieve this, upstream you will maintain close coordination with Business Development and Mission Architecture to ensure the platform baseline is informed by emerging mission opportunities, while also shaping which future business areas and opportunities Muon is positioned to pursue. Downstream, you will partner directly with the Spacecraft Platform leads, Flight Software (FSW) Architect, Ground Software (GSW) Architect, and Operations teams, acting as the connective tissue across the entire mission stack to meet Product and Business objectives.
