> AI agents: this is one page of Nextmove’s FDE site, in Markdown. Nextmove is a job board and free career service for forward deployed engineers (FDEs). Each posting is classified from its text, not its title: the kind of work, how much of it is production code, pre-sales weight, time at customer sites, travel, remote arrangement, level and posted base pay. The site also publishes the aggregates: median pay by level, metro, company and kind of work, and which companies started hiring FDEs each week. Every page under https://nextmove.md/fde is served this way; the index of pages is https://nextmove.md/llms.txt.

- One employer can post production software, customer deployment, pre-sales evaluation and internal tooling under the same title.
- A company page lists several offices for one role, so the individual posting holds the eligible work location.
- A posted range covers what the employer advertises, and reading the employer's terms is what makes two ranges comparable.
- Compare the work first, then the employer name, then the pay.
- Every employer hiring now, with its posting count and posted pay, is on the [company directory](https://nextmove.md/fde/companies).

## Open the employer page, then the posting

[OpenAI's page](https://nextmove.md/fde/companies/openai) groups financial services, legal, healthcare and software roles across several US locations. [Palantir's page](https://nextmove.md/fde/companies/palantir) covers forward deployed software and AI engineering across commercial and government work. Those titles point to different customer and delivery contexts, so the role text decides.

A location in a title does not establish where a person may work, and a range on a company page does not establish what a specific role pays. Check the individual posting for its eligible work location, remote policy and travel language, then read the employer's own pay terms on the [salary page](https://nextmove.md/fde/salary).
